This backyard was once dominated by an unused, high-maintenance swimming pool. With grown-up kids and a busy schedule, our client wanted to transform the space into a peaceful sanctuary to return to after work travels.
The former pool now houses a rainwater tank that sustains a low-maintenance, predominantly native garden. A towering Eucalypt, known for shedding debris, shaped the planting approach—selecting species that tolerate leaf drop while ensuring easy clean-up. By minimising hard surfaces and incorporating plants with an open habit, fallen bark and leaves naturally filter through, enriching the mulch and seamlessly blending into the landscape.
